In the first group of pictures empty skyscrapers in China and Cambodia are treated as massive sculptures, created when the money to finish the buildings apparently ran out overnight. The second group of photos uses abandoned buildings and the people who live near them to stage scenes exploring social issues, such as the economy, corruption, and conflict between the generations. Interestingly, a certain amount of corruption was necessary to get into some of the sites. Mr Monkey enjoyed the pictures but, remembering the end of King Kong, restrained his natural inclination to swarm up the side of skyscrapers.
