Mr Monkey sees Collective Identity at the Chinese Arts Centre, 17th January

"Those are fine cut-outs"

At the Chinese Arts Centre, Mr Monkey went to look at the work Karen Tam from Montreal was doing during her residency at the Centre's Breathe studio. Mr Monkey admired the cutouts, inspired by various sources including traditional Chinese paintings, the covers of ragtime lyric sheets, and Rosie O'Donnell's inability to cope with Chinese names.

You can read about Karen Tam's work at the Karen Tam website, and about the centre at the Chinese Arts Centre website.
