Mr Monkey sees Collective Identity at the Chinese Arts Centre, 17th January

"It's certainly very bright from a distance"

Mr Monkey scampered through into the main gallery space to see the Collective Identity exhibition, which features work by ten artists dealing with changes in Chinese society and identity in the post-Mao era. Mr Monkey was attracted by the brightness of Red Sea by Shao Yinong and Mu Chen, but found that the picture sort of went away when he got close to it.

You can read about Collective Identity at the Chinese Arts Centre website and about Shao Yinong and Mu Chen at the Chinese Contemporary website.
