Mr Monkey looked off the port side of the ferry, assuming port is to the left of the direction of travel. It's a little complicated when a ship doesn't seem to have a proper pointed prow and blunt stern. He looked at the cranes of the Port of Seattle, and at the sun going down in the clouds over West Seattle.
