Mr Monkey visits Lake Union Park, 5th February

"It's a shame the ferries don't look like this now"

The last ship Mr Monkey looked at was the steamer Virginia V. This is the last of the 'mosquito fleet' serving the Puget Sound. Virginia V was built in 1922 to carry passengers and freight from Vashon Island to Seattle and Tacoma. Mr Monkey admired her sleek lines, then tried to see the other side of Lake Union. He knew Gasworks Park was out there somewhere, but it all looked grey to him.

You can read about the ship at the Steamship Virginia V website.
