Mr Monkey's walk along the Peak Forest canal really started at the end of the Hyde Bank tunnel. He looked into the tunnel, noticed that you really need a boat to go through it, and set off along the towpath towards Marple. The whole Peak Forest Canal runs 15 miles from Ashton to Whaley Bridge, but Mr Monkey was only intending to walk a little bit of it.
