Mr Monkey visits the Royal Pump Room museum, 21st July

"It's an interesting building, you know"

After Mr Monkey had walked through the annexe he arrived in the original Pump Room. This was built in 1842 to enclose the sulphur springs, and make taking the waters an indoor experience. Mr Monkey admired the arching ceiling, and looked at a temporary exhibition of Victorian items. There was a big print of William Powell Frith's The Railway Station and a selection of hats to try on, but they weren't the right size for Mr Monkey.
