Because Mr Monkey's humans only had a picnic rug and lots of other people had brought chairs with them, Mr Monkey sat on the ground right at the front. Everyone spent the time before the play started eating their picnics, unless they were children. The children spent the time asking if the play was starting soon. Mr Monkey walked down to the lake and looked back at the Hall and the crowd.
