Mr Monkey sees Catapult 07 at Urbis, 2nd November

"You can bind quite a lot of book in 83 hours, it seems"

Mr Monkey reading the Catapult 07 poster Mr Monkey examining 83 Hours by Sarah Brown

Mr Monkey read the introduction to Catapult 07, which told him that he was going to see the strongest work by this years graduates from the University of Salford and the Manchester Metropolitan University. The first piece Mr Monkey looked at was 83 Hours by Sarah Brown, made in 83 hours in reference to a bookbinder who was put in prison for wanting his working week reduced to 83 hours. That was in 1787, and Mr Monkey suspects that bookbinders have shorter weeks now.

You can read about the exhibition at the Urbis archive website.
