Mr Monkey in Rotterdam, 26th March

"We should come back on a day without any rain"

Mr Monkey looking across Het Park Mr Monkey looking at a statue of Hendrik Tollens

Mr Monkey walked along Parklaan, until he came to Het Park. He crossed a little bridge over a stream and started scampering through the park. Mr Monkey thought it was a bit of a shame the weather wasn't better. In the middle of the park he found a statue of the poet Hendrick Tollens* who wrote Wien Neerlands bloed, the Dutch national anthem from 1815 to 1932.

* More properly known as Henricus Franciscus Caroluszoon Tollens.
