Mr Monkey in London, 16th May

"It's still got the same engines it had in 1890"

Next to the Portwey Mr Monkey found the Robin, the last intact steamcoaster in the world, which was built in Blackwall in 1890. Her hold has been converted into a centre for creative learning, and volunteers are working on repairing the engines. Lloyds apparently registered it as a three masted schooner without noticing the engines, which Mr Monkey thought was a little careless of them.

You can read about the ship at the S.S. Robin website.
