Mr Monkey visits the Roman Baths, 2nd June

"It's a goddessy sort of face"

Mr Monkey followed all the other visitors around the temple courtyard. This is where people prayed to the goddess Sulis Minerva. Mr Monkey thought it probably looked better before it was built over. He admired the head which is all they've got left of a gilt bronze statue of the goddess which probably stood in the temple, looking towards the altar in the courtyard.
