Before he left The Paragon Mr Monkey had a look down Broad Street to the Abbey church. When important visitors arrived along the Paragon, word was sent to the abbey and the visitors were welcomed with bellringing. Then they were charged for the bellringing, which might have spoilt the welcome a little. Finally, Mr Monkey ended his day following Jane Austen around by looking down Milsom Street, Bath's principal shopping street. Then he trotted back to the station, and caught the next train to Bristol.
Mr Monkey spotted one of King Bladud's pigs on the way back to the station.
