On Saturday evening Mr Monkey and his humans scampered down to the Kings room for the Gala Dinner. After he'd had a nice meal there were speeches and a raffle. The toastrix Natasha Cooper introduced the three Featured Guest Authors, Karin Fossum, Jeff Lindsay and Ian Rankin (who also won the Audible Sounds of Crime Award for an abridged version of Exit Music), and Ruth Dudley Edwards won the Last Laugh Award for best humourous crime novel for Murdering Americans. Several people won prizes in the raffle, but none of them were Mr Monkey.
