Mr Monkey in Prague, 10th June

"The darkness makes the statues more dramatic"

Mr Monkey looking at the statue of Rabbi Low on the New Town Hall Mr Monkey looking at the Jan Hus monument

Mr Monkey scampered across Mariánské náméstí and into the Old Town Square. On the corner of the Nová radnice (New Town Hall) he looked at Ladislav Šaloun's statue of Rabbi Low accepting a rose, with the angel of Death hiding inside it, from his grandaughter. The statue was carefully hidden from the Nazis during the war. In the Old Town Square Mr Monkey paused to look at another sculpture by Ladislav Šaloun, the Jan Hus monument. Then he scurried back to his hotel.
