Mr Monkey in Portsmouth, 28th August

"They get a lot of warships sailing around the Solent, you know"

As Mr Monkey trotted along the Clarence Esplanade he spotted an obelisk commemorating the dead of the Crimean war. Looking out to sea he spotted D96, HMS Gloucester, one of the Royal Navy's Type 42 destroyers (batch 3), sailing towards the naval base in Portsmouth. Mr Monkey was interested to see that the ship, the sea and the sky were all more or less the same colour.

You can read about HMS Gloucester at the Royal Navy website.
