Mr Monkey started by studying London Underground's first poster, No Need To Ask A P'liceman (John Hassal, 1908), which really advertised the Underground map. Then he looked at a later poster, Brightest London is Best Reached by Underground (Horace Taylor, 1924), created when they had decided to use flatter images with solid blocks of colour.
You can read about the exhibition at the London Transport Museum website.
