Mr Monkey in Newcastle, 13th December

"I suppose it's a reasonable place for a monument"

Mr Monkey looking at Newcastle from Bottle Bank Mr Monkey looking at the monument to James Hill

Mr Monkey veered left after crossing the Tyne. He stopped on a traffic island in the middle of Bottle Bank to look back across the Tyne at Newcastle, then examined a monument to James Hill that had been fixed against a nearby wall. Hill was a famous fiddler who lived on Bottle Bank.

You can read about James Hill at the Folk Archive Resources North East.
