Mr Monkey at the V&A, 10th February

"There's a lot of little Romans running in a long spiral"

Mr Monkey looking at Trajan's Column in the Cast Court Mr Monkey looking looking down at the storage and restoration area of the Cast Courts

Mr Monkey scampered onto a walkway that crosses the Cast Courts at the first floor. Looking over one side of the walkway he saw plaster replicas of many ancient and medieval sculptures and monuments. He spent some time looking at Trajan's Column (cast in two pieces to fit into the building) to see the legions of the emperor Trajan defeat the Dacians. Looking over the other side of the walkway he looked down on a conservation and storage area. Then he scampered out of the V&A.

At the V&A website you can read about the Cast Courts and see inside Trajan's Column.
