Mr Monkey in Fleetwood, 20th February

"I wonder what the other Burton boys were called"

Mr Monkey decided to go and look at the Fleetwood seafront. First he looked across the road at a pub called The Steamer, named for the steamships that used to bring passengers into Fleetwood, and at Queens Terrace. Queens Terrace is another of the buildings designed by Decimus Burton in 1840. Mr Monkey found an information board that told him that Fleetwood had been invented in the early 1830s by Sir Peter Hesketh, and Decimus Burton (the 10th son of Mr Burton) had designed most of the early town.
