Mr Monkey trotted through the dunes towards the sea. He quickly found the Spioenkop. There's been a look-out point here since the end of the eighteenth century, but it only got the name 'Spioenkop' in 1902 when the townsfolk of Wenduine showed their annoyance at the British winning the Boer war by naming a new pavilion for visitors after the Boer victory at Spion Kop in 1900. Mr Monkey found that he had a good view of the Wenduine seafront from the pavilion.
