Mr Monkey in Chester, 8th December

"It's nice that they know where they are"

As his train left Crewe Mr Monkey peered out of the window to see if he could spot the Crewe Heritage Centre. As he went past he mostly saw 6201 Princess Elizabeth, an LMS 8P class 4-6-2 locomotive that is very eye-catching in its crimson lake livery. Soon Mr Monkey jumped off the train at Chester station, which used to be so pleased to be 179 miles from London and 85 miles from Holyhead that it put up a sign to let everyone know.

You can read about the centre at the Crewe Heritage Centre website, about the locomotive at the 6201 Princess Elizabeth Locomotive Society website and about the facilities of Chester station at the National Rail website.
