Just outside the Library Mr Monkey stopped to examine a bush that was pretending to be a bookworm, then went through the new entrance. He waited patiently while his humans hired audio guides, then went through into the atrium which connects the old and new parts of the Library. He immediately noticed Totem, a glass sculpture by Derek Hunt that draws on items from the Library's collection to "embody the spirit of the John Rylands Library".
