Leaving the Rylands Gallery, Mr Monkey set out to explore the entrance hall. After admiring the vaulting for a while, he carefully examined the windows and peered out to see a little bit of Deansgate. Renovating the windows in the entrance hall and the cloisters needed 8000 replacement roundels, hand-made in Germany, each costing £5. And Mr Monkey found you have to look through the bits between the roundels to see anything.
