After his humans had eaten at the Solaris Centre, Mr Monkey went to look at the giant mirrorball that had attracted him earlier. This is named They Shoot Horses, Don't They? after the Horace McCoy's 1935 book about a dance marathon, and was created by Michael Trainor. Apparently Blackpool people think it's an icon of Blackpool second only to the Tower. After he'd admired the 20 foot wide spinning sparkler for a while, Mr Monkey's humans said it was time to go back to the centre of Blackpool. As the weather worsened Mr Monkey decided against hiding in the rather complicated looking shelters along the South Promenade.
