Near London Bridge Station, Mr Monkey found St Thomas' church, which used to have Guy's hospital adjoining it. When the hospital moved, they left an operating theatre in the church roof. Mr Monkey scampered up the stairs to see the oldest operating theatre in Britain. In 1821, this was a state-of-the-art medical facility, even though the operations were done on what looks like someone's kitchen table.
