Mr Monkey at the Tower of London

"Everything here used to be something else"

Mr Monkey started to investigate the buildings inside the walls. He was impressed by the size of the Waterloo Barracks, which was built when the Duke of Wellington was Constable of the Tower, just in case he needed almost 1000 soldiers to make Londoners behave properly. They keep the Crown Jewels in the Barracks now, and Mr Monkey was very unimpressed with the queue to get in. So he went to look at the Old Hospital Block instead. This was built in the 18th century as an office for the Board of Ordnance, and became a hospital later.
