Mr Monkey at the Tower of London

"This is all a bit dodgy"

Mr Monkey looking at the Parade of Kings Mr Monkey with a Venetian lion

In the 19th century, one of the attractions of the Tower was the 'Parade of Kings', which had dummies on horses, representing all the kings of England. Most of the figures wore totally inaccurate armour, and the display included unlikely things such as William the Conquerer's musket. Now they've attempted to recreate this slightly unlikely spectacle. Scampering past the kings, Mr Monkey found a lion guarding the Tower shop. This was originally Venetian, but they left it behind when they abandoned Corfu, and the British army "retrieved" it.
