The water level was so high above Teddington Lock that there was no noticable change when the boat went through the lock, which annoyed Mr Monkey a bit, as he'd wanted to see how a lock works from inside. On the other hand, it meant he got through the lock very quickly, and was soon passing under Hammersmith Bridge. This was built by Bazalgette in 1887, but is a replica of an earlier bridge.
