The Campbell House is a fine Georgian style building, built in 1822 by William Campbell, a successful lawyer and judge in York (which is what Toronto was called then). Mr Monkey paused for a moment outside, then scampered inside, where a lady in period costume explained that the Campbells used their new house for entertaining, and that it was never really a family place as their children had left home years before.
