After a spot of shopping, Mr Monkey visited Washington Square. There were originally two graveyards here, then some upmarket housing on the north side and tenements on the south. In 1911 it was the scene of the horrible Triangle fire. Now the square is surrounded by university buildings, and could do with having its fountain repaired. Mr Monkey suspected that the people filming each other having staring matches were somehow connected to the university.
