Mr Monkey's Dockland Walk

"It's a bit of a funny shape for a canal"

Mr Monkey scampered past the new houses around the Shadwell Basin, and up some stairs to St Paul's Church. This was built between 1817 and 1820, to replace an earlier church. Then Mr Monkey ran back down to what used to be the Wapping Wood Canal, connecting the Shadwell Basin to London Docks, but is now a long, shallow pond.
