As Mr Monkey watched, a boat went into the lower part of the Wheel. A few minutes later, the top beak of the Wheel started to dip. Mr Monkey realised that there were two big tanks of water, and a cunning mechanism that kept them level so that the boat didn't end up the wrong way up. Apparently, these tanks of water are called gondolas.
