Mr Monkey visits Inchcolm Abbey

"It seems to be a sort of petrol station for tankers"

Mr Monkey was intrigued by the BP oil terminals at Hound Point, which are at the end of a 400 mile long oil pipeline from the Forties oil field. Tankers turn up to be filled from the giant nozzles. Hound Point got its name because, in the middle ages, one of the sons of the family who owned the land left his dog behind when he went to die in the Crusades, and now the dog is supposed to howl from loneliness, despite being dead. Then the boat slipped under the rail bridge, turned, and took Mr Monkey back to land.
