After escaping from the fake earthquake, Mr Monkey studied the Restless Surface gallery, which is all about the formation of rocks. He let his humans turn various handles and things, and was taken with this fossilied collection of shellfish. Mr Monkey rather regretted not making Mr Rik write down the various forces which had affected the rather unsettled looking rock, because everything that could happen to a young rock had.
