Further down the road, Mr Monkey came to Park House. This was built in 1876 by someone who liked gables. It was the home and workplace of the Chief Medical Officer of the GWR. Anyone applying for a job on the railway had an examination here, and GWR workers came here for their annual check-ups. Now it's the home of a number of small businesses.
