Mr Monkey in Brussels, December 9th

"I wonder how they choose people to be statues?"

At the entrance to the Parc du Cinquantenaire, Mr Monkey studied a pair of monuments. One was to General Albert Thys, the other to Robert Schuman. Schuman got his statue for being closely involved in the creation of the European Union, while Thys explored a lot of Africa and built a railway from Matadi to Léopoldville in the Congo.
