Mr Monkey scampered through the narrow streets of Southwark, trying to find the Thames path. He thought it would probably take too much time to visit Southwark Cathedral, and decided to look at Winchester Palace instead. As all that's left of the magnificent palace that the Bishop of Winchester lived in (when he was avoiding Winchester) is a hole in the ground and a wall, it didn't take too much time to look at. He was impressed by the frame for the rose window, even if the supply of walls was insufficient.
You can read a bit about Winchester Palace at the Ideal Homes: Suburbia in Focus website.
