A large part of the museum is about the history of Bristol's docks, and the ships that sailed in and out of them. After Mr Monkey had studied plans of the floating harbour (which got its name because when they built some lock gates to keep the water in the harbour, ships could float, instead of lying in the mud), he spent a few minutes making a ship's telegraph ring a bell. However he set the telegraph, the museum didn't change speed.
