In the seventies section, Mr Monkey studied a Thea Porter maxi-dress whose length was a feminist reaction to the mini-skirts of the sixties. Mr Monkey wasn't sure what the sleeves were a reaction to. Looking at the pictures, he found out that plastic was still popular as a little black dress material, but that some people (such as the Swedish punk Inger) were making theirs out of bin-liners.
