"Some market stalls would make the market place more like a market"

Mr Monkey looking at Knaresborough Market Place Mr Monkey looking at a row of old buildings in Knaresborough

Mr Monkey left the castle and scampered off into into Knaresborough Market Place. If he'd come on a Wednesday Mr Monkey would have seen a market with up to a hundred stalls. But he didn't, so he didn't, and had to be content with looking at the market cross and the pleasant buildings. The middle building in the second picture is Blind Jack's, a pub made by running two houses together, named after the famous blind road-maker from Knaresborough.
