"Crime writers seem to like winning a barrel of beer"

When he got back to Harrogate, Mr Monkey checked into his hotel properly, then went along to the Old Swan Hotel, where all the events of the 2006 Harrogate Crime Writing Festival were being held. The first event Mr Monkey saw was the awarding of the Theakston Old Peculier prize; Stephen Booth, Martin Edwards, Lindsay Ashford, Val McDermid and Ian Rankin were shortlisted, but it was Val McDermid who won. Afterwards, Mr Monkey took his humans to the Harrogate Brasserie to eat.

You can read about Mr Monkey's choice of eating place at the Harrogate Brasserie website.
