Mr Monkey walks York's walls, August 9th

"The ditch should be deeper, and the walls should be thinner"

Mr Monkey paused at Robin Hood's Tower, which is mostly Victorian and made out of concrete and tram rails. Looking down outside the walls he could see the ditch guarding the city walls, though it's been filled in a little since the time it was meant seriously. Looking down inside the walls he could see the arches added by the Victorians to widen the medieval walkways when the walls were opened for promenading.
