Mr Monkey at the Merchant Adventurers Hall, August 9th

"It actually is a great hall, this Great Hall"

Mr Monkey studied the wonderful great hall, and its magnificent roof. The hall is so wide that they couldn't get oak beams long enough to span the whole hall, and had to build it as a double nave. That was between 1357 and 1361, and they've been adding extras ever since. Mr Monkey admired the fine crown posts in the roof, which were rare in the north.
