Mr Monkey in Ghent, September 18th

"It's lucky he's got that woman to hold his flag for him"

Mr Monkey noticed that someone was planning to do something interesting with little pointy tents in Emile Braunplein, then ran around the base of the Belfry into Sint-Baafsplein. Here he stopped to look at the memorial to Jan Frans Willems, a Flemish writer who became leader of the popular Flemish faction after the Belgian revolution of 1830 and who campaigned for absolute equality between the French and Flemish languages in Belgium. Mr Monkey wasn't sure if he went round wearing just a flag in real life, and decided he probably didn't.
