Mr Monkey scampered up the stairs inside the North Tower, which were put there when the bridge was built so that, when the bridge was raised for a ship to pass, pedestrians could climb up one tower, cross the river by the upper walkway, and go down the other side. Actually, Mr Monkey went up the stairs mostly in Mr Rik's pocket. At the top he watched a short film about designing the bridge, and looked out of a window at the Tower of London.
