Mr Monkey sees China: Journey to the East at the Manchester Museum, 30th September

"It sounds like an interesting trip"

Mr Monkey found that the exhibition had a series of display cases facing inwards, with text panels facing outwards. He scampered around the outside reading about a visit to Wuhan (Manchester's sister city since 1986) made by Stephen Welsh, Curator of Living Cultures, in January 2010. As well as being interesting - Mr Monkey liked Mr Welsh's excuse for not banging a bell properly - these panels told Mr Monkey that the five subjects of the exhibition were Play and Performance, Food and Drink, Festivals and Belief, Language and Writing, and Technology and Invention.
