Mr Monkey walks the Peak Forest Canal from Romiley to Marple, 19th April

"There's an awful lot of greenery getting in the way, you know"

Mr Monkey peered through the trees and bushes at the Marple viaduct. This was built in 1865, 65 years after the aqueduct opened, and carries trains from Manchester to Marple 124 feet above the river Goyt. Before climbing back up to the canal, Mr Monkey had a quick look at trees reflected in the Goyt.
