Mr Monkey found the lower water wheel hiding behind a little gate. Like the upper wheel, this has a diameter of 12 feet. Mr Monkey noticed that the hub of the wheel was cracked and had been bolted together and strapped and patched up. Then Mr Monkey scampered through a door into the basement of the drying kiln, to look at the oven where the miller would start a fire.
