Friday
Mr Monkey spent the day at the Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival. He saw Richard Burke moderating as Ann Cleeves, Simon Brett, Aline Templeton and Jim Kelly talked about why they set their books in the country or in small towns. After lunch, Mr Monkey saw Mark Billingham sort of moderate a panel about class and crime with David Roberts,
Sheila Quigley, Martyn Waites, and Laura Wilson. Between panels, Mr Monkey watched authors signing books in the small outpost of Waterstones attached to the festival.
You can read about the Festival at the Old Peculier Crime Writing festival website.
